![]() Most epoxy coatings also have poor UV stability. Epoxies are generally very tough, corrosion-resistant coatings, but their pot-life is short. Epoxy coatings are two-part resins that, when combined, form a chemical reaction between the epoxy and the hardener that cures the epoxy. Most of the alkyd-based paints dry from a chemical reaction between the fatty acids and the air. Alkyds are fatty-acid modified polyester resins. They are generally used when there are VOC release concerns during the coating process. Waterborne acrylic latex coatings are also referred to as emulsion-based coatings. Acrylic paints used in protective coatings are based upon either organic or water-based solvents. In some countries where volatile organic compound (VOC) regulations are extremely strict, waterborne acrylic latex (referred to as emulsion coatings) are used in industrial applications. For residential and commercial applications, water-based acrylics are the primary choice. These polymer types make up the plain vanilla of the industrial painting world. ![]() The most basic of industrial paints are lacquers and enamels. Solvents that affect the drying time and viscosity of the paint mixture.Resins, which are acrylic and epoxy that bind all the components together into a homogeneous substance.Additives, including thickeners, UV stabilizers and anti-foaming agents.Pigments, which provide not only the coloration, but also help with corrosion resistance and the overall strength of the coating or paint mixture. Most are organic compounds made up of carbon-based components. This thinner indicates more than one compound or chemical constituent is contained in the paint or coatings. It is recommended to allow 28 days as the curing time for such surfaces. Most of us know that paint often is related to a thinner. Also, new masonry surfaces must be allowed to cure completely. For interior surfaces or substrates that are subjected to continuous seepage or dampness, use Asian Paints Smart Care Damp Block before the top coat application. In case of dents and holes, use Asian Paints Wall Putty or a mix of White cement and fine sand in the ratio of 1:3.In case of dents and holes upto 6mm, use Asian Paints TruCare Super putty to level the surface For filling up cracks that are as deep as 3 mm.When the underlying surface exhibits chalkiness, in spite of thorough surface cleaning, use Asian Paints Exterior Sealer. In case of areas having excessive dampness, please use Asian Paints Damp Block to limit further dampness.Growth of fungus, algae or moss should be removed by wire brushing and water. Surfaces should be free from any loose paint, dust or grease before applying Apcolite Premium Emulsion. And lastly, leave the surface to dry for 3 to 4 hours. If you are using a brush or roller, add 60% to 70% water and if you are using a spray add 70% - 75% water. Now, apply 2 coats of Apcolite Premium Emulsion. If you are using a brush or roller, add 60% - 70% of water or if you are using a spray, add 70% to 75% of water. Again, if you are using a brush, mix 8 - 10% Mineral Turpentine Oil or if you are using a spray, mix 15 - 20% of Mineral Turpentine oil.Ħ) Leave the surface to dry for 6 - 8 hours and later sand it with Emery Paper 320.ħ) Apply one coat of Apcolite Premium Emulsion. Leave the surface to dry for 4 - 6 hours.Ĥ) Sand the surface again with Emery Paper 180 and wipe it clean.ĥ) Then apply 2 coats of Asian paints Wall Primer. If you are using a spray, mix 15 - 20% of Mineral Turpentine Oil.ģ) Apply Asian paints Acrylic Wall Putty and add water as required to make it into a paste. ![]() If you are using a brush, mix 8 - 10% of Mineral Turpentine Oil. You can use a brush or a spray for application. 1) Sand the surface with Emery Paper 180 and wipe it clean.Ģ) Apply Asian Paints Wall Primer (Oil based or Water based).
